Q: Should the Model 98 be used for automated cells?

A: No. The model 98 should not be used for automated cells. Because the return motion of the marker is provided with a spring and the spring is a wearable part. At some point in time the spring will fail and the marker will not return. The extended marker may cause damage to the machinery of line process. CMT recommends the use of the Model 298 double acting air impact marker for use in automated cells.
