Q: I am looking to buy a #78 Mite E Mark- and want to find the appropriate stamp- I need to mark a dot on a steel part, in a .470" deep cavity. How do I tell how much of the stamp extends past the shaft of the marker? The shaft of the mark will not fit in the cavity (.400" diameter cavity)?

A: The stamp extends 1/8" out of the rod end. The width of the rod is 5/8".

The best way to mark in the recess is:

a) Use the 2" approach stroke or "20" option for the best clearance and force.

b) Purchase a CM7XSL150P90. This is a 1/4" diameter insert for the Mite-E-Mark model 78 rod style "OB" the stamp is 1 1/2" long (standard is 3/4" long)
